Thoughts - Rainy day.

It was constant pitter pattering outside with thick rain drops hitting the glass pane at the brim of my balcony. While I lay on the bed lazily reading my book all I could hear in the last half hour amidst the monotonous rainfall was a couple of honking at the nearby junction where cars sped by indicating their movements. A faint cry of a bird that lived in a nest on the backyard tree was heard too. Yes, the distant dog barked profusely, I presume it to be due to the sight of kids walking in full rain gear and boots. My focus shifted back to the story in the book.I frantically started reading the next few pages that had me gripped. When the story ended I closed the book and still engrossed in those characters and their doings I failed to realize that the musical rainfall had waded off and the silence was replaced by noisy traffic, people talking, loud music from the neighbors house, the florist who comes on his cycle selling flowers shouting the names of the seasonal blooms as he p...

Stay home! Let's fight this together.

Wish I had something to say on this day to the cray cray world at the moment. Something that can ease out those worried brows and pain filled souls who are seeing their dear ones suffer. But no, I've nothing that can be done at the moment but sit back home and pray for that ray of light to be back on mankind. We'd all fight it together, patience is the remedy until the real one is found. Stay home! Be safe everyone!

Cease and Chance.

The title of the post says cease and chance which are actually two titles. To know more please read on the snippets. Cease! A stroll in the evening rain To binge on Hot samosas down the lane A combination of Chitter chatter Fun and laughter Makes it worth living Each day - every moment. Can the time cease forever Do something, what-so-ever Halt everything , as they are Chance? Thousands come and Thousands go A mark - only a few make Though How I wish I am one of them Not a normal stone but a precious gem Lot of hammering shapes me through I stick to my goals, heavily glued Perfecting my stance Guess, I stand a chance?

Photo Fiction 1: Struggle

[A fiction inspired by a photo] Muniyamma was leading a normal life with her husband KaaLappa and had delivered 4 wonderful kids by age of twenty four. They were a happy family though KaaLappa's daily wages met day-day meals and other basic ameneties. He moved from his village to the nearby town after he got a supervisor job in a Garments company. All dreams of a better life and great future were shattered with the news of Muniyamma's husband, KaaLappa's demise. It was a fire accident caused by a short circuit in the garment factory that took his life. Compensation provided by the company was meager to lead a life with four little kids. Muniyamma lost interest in life and even tried to end it, but unfortunate enough the poison she consumed was adulterated and thus the hospitalization ate up the compensation amount. Now with four little kids and a sick bed-ridden mother-in-law, Muniyamma had no choice but to face the reality and move on in her life. They had an acre of the an...

January wind up note!

The month of January coming to a close marks the birth [12 January, 1863] of a legend [ Swami Vivekananda ] and the death [30 January 1948] of a legend[ Mahatma Gandhi ]. Last week of December I was in Kanyakumari and here is the beauty of the town - it has a Vivekananda Memmorial and Gandhi Bhavan.Sheer co-incidence or was it right there only for this post? Vivekananda Rock memmorial captured at night in the lights. The world is the great gymnasium where we come to make ourselves strong. ~ Swami Vivekananda Gandhi Bhavan with the symbolised charaka! Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding. ~ Mahatma Gandhi I am not a follower of either but thought of sharing some gyan!!

Nostalgia

Today's travel to office was different than usual. No, I am not talking about the weather. It was still the same bright and sunny day here in Bangalore, though we've already hit December. The time I commute these days have been shifted from wee hours (according to this generation - 7 am) to sunny afternoons (12:30 pm), an arrangement made as per my work requirement. What made this day's commute special by the way? Good news!! for new work time I get a company transport:). wohoooh!! I am the first one to be picked up which means the last one to be dropped as well :( However my cab driver, "Babu" who is a localite talks about various essence of life and keeps the momentum going (actually from his perspective). I try to provide my opinions and views whenever possible. This way we learn, share ideas and increase our knowledge. Topics range from Current affairs to an affair between two film stars:) ha ha ha! Today, as we crossed one of the major traffic junctions, Babu...

Reality

Ventured out on a casual stroll In the street saw I A kid cajole its mom , for a decent toy buy Shabby looks, clothes tattered Cruel 'NO' is what I hear Dreaming kid's heart shattered Rolling down its cheek, I see a tear Kid rest his head, couched safe Mom sits there and embrace She had no penny To feed her little sonny Harsh was reality that hit her hard Begging continued on the street No signs of betterness on the card She stood fighting the cold, bare feet A stranger crossed the busy road Filled of trucks with heavy load Picked the toy from the vendor Placed it in the hands of the little wonder A gentle tender smile Is what I'd been waiting all the while Bewildered, I stand there Ahh! there are people who care and share..

A Day out in Lal Bag!

This was not the first time I visited Lal bagh. Yet it had its own charming welcome. Colors around and pretty decorum made it the perfect outing. Alone I started this journey and the best part of the day was the attractive Lal Bagh Flower show. Its been a beautiful part of my life now as I can cherish the memories viewing the clicks I happened to capture in the lens - How ever they dont match the real view that's stored in my brain :) Lucky me - to have been blessed to see this colorful nature. Part of the Independence day celebrations started a week before the actual date. I thoroughly enjoyed the Flower show and here is a glimpse of what I saw in Real. Next time if you are in Bangalore either during the Republic day weekend or Independence day weekend and if you love colors , nature and gardening - Please don't miss this event. Vande Mataram. Jai Hind! Macro shot of a Dahlia in white and Maroon. That's an Anthorium in Red. Loved the cont...

Fear!

Days and nights Come and go Simple it looks The life that throw problems at you making you the "STRONGER YOU" Banking your strength A step a time you took Came a demonic hurricane Strong winds blew Stronger you stood, little you shook Was it the fear within? You constantly yearned to win. Burn down, Feel the cry Weep along, Dont be shy Vision clears Gone are the fears Start afresh holding the happy - strings of life. Don't you worry No happiness comes easy Push and Pulls - Prone to happen No matter what season Keep those lovely smiles coming.

Aim and Gain!

Working mind had gone blank Thoughts were a lot But there came a clot - How Do I Reach That No.1 Rank ? All those high brain Nerds there Seeing them I was scared The feeling - little akward No one seemed to be bothered Busy in their routine Portraying a definitive mien Hurray was the only Word 'Cos after this , they'll be Honored White paper,on it the black ink's wink Got me to the act of blink blink blink Penning the words that flowed Poured poured and poured Finally, it was over and I was out So was the crowd discussing their doubts Happy and merry sounded I My soul within knew I would stand that high Came that day I shout the word - Hurray No. 1 was my aim No. 10 is no bad I exclaim. [Zero has no value right. Be it No.1 or No.10. Who cares ? Ha ha ha :)]

Yet another milestone.

Time passes by, days roll, years grow and so do we. Its one more year added to my career-life. Going a few years down the lane , I can see myself sitting in front of the interviewer who seemed funny not because of his behaviour or his attire. He was asking questions way beyond the thinking capacity of an engineering student still in her last year of the course. Yes it wasn't simple to get into an MNC. Especially getting placed through college was a dream come true. I was selected!Hmmm something must be really wrong with those guys thought I. Later did I get to know that it was a part of stress test they were carrying out on all the candidates. I had cleared the test , Not bad, my patience level was way too high. Dont expect that now.. Pleaaaseee! If I go back to the days of my training - Thats going to be another blog in full [some other time please]. Gosh! No I did not want to be trained on Mainframes - Not knowing the fact that its gonna be an alltime high and evergreen in the I...

A cry not heard!

Ray of light far from sight All his need is a caring feed A place to sleep, a blanket to keep - the despodent waif Warm and safe Cruel men see the poor one plead, Emptiness filled hearts hesitant to share a part. On the pavement's corner sits this lad a bit. Weak and pale telling his tale None hear Do they feign fear? Hoping - is all he could do for some fresh hot stew Every passer-by down the lane Ignore this guy and all his pain Why is this scene not wiping off my brain Serene it Remains Revives time and again As I sit by the window of the train.

@ the Airport.

BIAL - That's the abbreviation of Bangalore International Airport Limited . I with a friend and my dad headed towards this destination last friday. Its a clean 45 km drive one way. The traffic seemed to have come to halt on a friday night at 10, maybe a result of rising fuel price and adding to that the inflation taking tolls on the commuters. Weather was cool and the dark clouds had covered the sky, hiding away all the stars. The strong chilly wind that was cutting through the half openend window, ran my ears numb. It is a national highway that I need to take after a few initial rough city roads. As I drive through at a speed marking 100kmph on the display meter, few drops of rain made its entry on the glass surface in front, blurring the vision for a moment, until the wipers came on. A few gossips and giggles kept us engaged till we reached the parking lot at the airport. A glance at the clock confirmed the time - it was 11.05 pm. Malaysian airlines was to land at 11:25 and we w...

Who am I ?

I can hear a lot of you asking 'why this question now'? A few are thinking what went wrong. Yes I did watch a few scenes from the block buster movie Gajini last night but I'm not into any temporary memory loss or the kinds. Then Why am I asking this stupid question? I have one younger sister who has made me laugh, wiped my tears, hugged me tight, watched me succeed, made me mad, cheered me up and made me the strong person I am now. She is one beautiful, talented and a very intelligent soul I know. This may not sound something new to quite a lot reading through. At parties or other family celebrations if we are caught amidst the group of gossipping relatives ( which we most of the times avoid ) its become a practice for us to nod our heads when we are addressed by any of our names. Its been a big confusion till date amongst our relatives whom we visit not quite often. Both of our names start with "A" . Is that the reason for the confusion? In our childhood days we...

Birthday Bites:)

Yeah yeah you're right.. I turned another year old Friday the 17th. I have never missed a bite of my favourite chocolate - Cadbury's Crackle on my birthday ever since its release. This Birthday was no exception. It is a Crackle that completes my birthday! Well this year there were two other bites waiting in my gift list. In the evening after I reached back home, I was lying down on the sofa relaxing myself a bit. I was surfing through the channels to find something that interests me. When I found a reality show, I paused the surfing act and started listening to the song - " Dil cheez kya hai aap mere ..." that was playing. That was when I enjoyed the next bite - hmmmmph! It was a honey bee sting on my left ankle that left my leg swollen for the next 3 days. Wonder how people take so many stings to create a record in Guinness :0. Some Interesting fact I discovered when googled for the honey bee sting : [ Most bee stings removed: The greatest number of bee stings sus...

Meri yaar ki shaadi hai!

After the ups and downs seen in life " My pal " is going to see some light flow her way today. Yes that's when she says " I do ". I should have been by her side now, but I guess she understands the work world I am in is not allowing me to do so. Anyhow I pray silently here for the best to be hers always. I've known her from years now and she has managed to fight all that's come her way. I've learnt to be strong and to grow the way she does. She has been an inspiration for most of my highs. I've come out of flying c o l o r s - I attribute major credit to her. As I start writing this, my memory goes back to the days when we studied for the exams and the internals together, Oh no! forget about the nightmares but the way we shared the knowledge was fun. 2 years of initial introduction phase in the pre degree college and a whole stretch of 4 years has left behind bunch of memories to be revived and relived, every now and then, to bring the...

Movie maniacs!

Can anyone beat the Movie-4 challenge ? This was a target set by my cousin and myself long ago. Years have rolled by but we illustrate this achievement of ours very proudly whenever someone says he/she has just comeout from a movie marathon. How did this all start ? Well when I entered my 10th standard - board exams around the corner, there was a kannada movie of this hero named Ramesh Arvind - the then super hero of industry. It was " Antargami " - a story about a girl and her psychological illness. I am not sure why did I ever make it to that movie inspite of my preparatory exams falling the upcoming week. Cousin, her mom(Aunt) and myself had ended up there on a saturday matinee show. Mom had not watched the movie in which my cousin had acted and so she walked into the neighboring theatre where the show was on.The shows ended at around 1:15pm I guess and we still had time to make it for the classique - " Dil toh pagal hai ". This was our actual movie plan. But ...

!!Change for Good!!

New Place , New Environment and to spice it up People say " Change is inevitable and growth is Intentional ". Here I am in the phase of life where there is some change to note it down. Yes! Its the job or I could put it better this way - The time I spend during the day, to earn a living, is now being spent in a completeltly different place. Its been a while since I wanted this change but was waiting for the right move and the right time. When the tasks you perform gets into a monotonous routine, it rather does no good, but indeed help the dislike percentage to raise in every aspect. Same was my state couple of months ago and thats when I decided to sign up in the famous J ob hunt sites . Peter Drucker - a management guy has said " Company cultures are like country cultures. never try to change one.Try, instead, to work with what you've got " . To this I add another clause " If it doesn't work with you , its time to move on. " As I believe in my ow...

Modern ಸಂತೆ!

I dont blame it to the growing population or the cropping up trends and the amenities we are falling prey of. A casual lazy Sunday afternoon, Sis and myself set off with the thought of shopping. Girls and shopping are used as a double by most of the guys I know. If I had to reverse this statement it wouldn't mean indifferent anymore. I witnessed the growing numbers in guys coming out on a shopping spree last evening. What leaves me in a state of shock is the well designed strategies developed by the renowned marketing teams, that are rather benefecial to the organizations than the convinced buyer. They kind of cheat the customers with the inapproprite-fancy-eye catching schemes. The normal tendency of any customer is to buy articles even if it is'nt of much use. Thanks to the discounts that are so beautifully articulated that one bends down to the offer. Some instances of such offers can be scripted as below. In a section of a huge store one can see garments placed ,with a boar...
