Unveil the Other Side

I was cleaning up my hard-disk yesterday night and accidentally found a folder which had bloom of flowers. 2009 April is when we clicked them. Skagit valley was the destination. Okay let me drop in more details as I recall. It was early spring of 2009. The year I was in the states , Seattle to be precise. Having heard of the various attractions in and around Seattle what got me hooked was the famous Tulip festival.This festival has been around from about 30 years now. It definitely inspired me. As soon as I got to know that, we, a group of 5 friends would head out to these fields of tulips over the weekend, I was filled with joy.[Actually I would be overly enthu on any of the trips we have made during the stay in US]. It was a plan for the Sunday. I was the most excited of the lot. A friend had it all planned - the route, the rented car, the festival timings etc. I typed in the "Skagit Valley + Tulip festival" on my laptop. As I hit enter there were thousands of results...

Haaaa! Finally we have some rain down here in Bangalore. Spoiling the 20-20 match to be started at 8 this evening. Who cares! We are in need of this downpour. God has finally answered our prayers. Here is a click of the mighty clouds just before he descended down to earth. The smell of fresh mud, lovely evening with a hot cup of roadwala chai, a mirchi golgappa to add on to the list. That's pretty much of what happened in the last couple of hours. Well still in front of my mailbox answering a few critical follow-up emails.Nevertheless nothing stopped me from putting this short piece up. Hope this awesome weather remain for some time, atleast a week from now.!!

Scorchig heat accompanied by the dust on the roads equate to "Travel Impossible" in the city of Bangalore these days. God show some sympathy. Shower is what we Bangaloreans are waiting for. The temperature is hitting high on the mercury scale. We are midway through April and no sight of pre-monsoon showers. God of Rain , do hear our prayers - "We need a downpour". To beat this unwanted heat, small shops[gadiwalas] on the roadside have cropped up. You have a variety to choose from - An icecream candy, goli soda, sugarcane juice,Fresh sweet lime or orange juice, the Thaatiningu [fan palm], tender coconut water, sliced watermelon and more. I know these names in itself bring some soothing effect, how about having some of these everyday. Aaah!! the feeling is great.
