Pappu Gappu ~ 2

I know I've been really lazy to put down some interesting stuff here. Just that I still want this blog to be on, I am kind of passing by with a comic strip here folks. I promise to come back with a fiction that is emerging in the background. Till then enjoy this one. If you have some fresh bits that can go into the Pappu Gappu please send to "nashys21@gmail.com". I will try putting them up in the series. I will make every wednesday a Pappu - Gappu Day. What say friends?

38th Annual Cake show - Bangalore.

It was the penultimate day of 2012. I was not sure if the Annual cake show that is held every year in Bangalore was still on. I did not want to miss it not that they are exquisite or extra ordinary but I love the imagination of the innovators/creators. The zeal and enthusiasm for baking has been part of my life now. Bake a cake has become my mantra lately. So the journey began. Late in the afternoon after a quick cup of coffee, I jumped into my favorite pair of salwar kameez , favorite because it helps me bend, stretch and capture pictures the way I need them to be. It was the last day of the show and I had expected a huge crowd , long queues. On reaching the venue I noticed that the crowd was not bad though. It was a warm evening and a day before new years eve. Guess that may be a reason many opted to stay back home.Happily planning for the Big event - Welcoming 2013.   As I walked past the entry I saw a hu...

'Art' n 'Me'

From childhood I have an inclination towards creative activities or a piece of artistic work that can be regarded as a medium of artistic expression. In short, I have a liking to art, whatever form it may be. Here are some of my artistic ventures or atleast the ones I have captured. 1)Diya Art from the past. The year 2008, we decided to give a kind of makeover to the age old DeepavaLi diyas. With not having gone to any school of fine-arts I try putting up a design that just spurt out of my head. My sis and my cousin took the thick brush and painted the diyas in colors of blue and yellow. Once the paint dried I made those delicate curvy strokes using a thin brush. The end product is what you see in the picture below. We use them as decorative pieces in the yearly flower rangoli hosted for DeepavaLi. Take a look at some of our designs.:) Glad to have the collection intact. 2) Glass Painting: Most of you who have been a regular on my blog definitely have an idea as to w...

"Unveil my creations - Oh Lady!"

I come across many sketches, paintings, art pieces when I surf the net. There are so many of them that I've placed in my stack wanting to paint them on glass. As I digged more and more, here is what I found - a pencil sketch. Click here: Oh Lady! It is a simple, rustic and beautiful at the same time. Loved the way Ranjana has poured in her imagination on the paper. Now I was so interested to bring some colors onto it. Seeking Ranjana's permission, I have tried a glass art of the original sketch. Let me know what you think of the painting. For all you readers: A visit Ranjana's craft blog is a delight by itself for all art cravers.I have been a regular visitor since the first time I peeped into her blog. She is versatile, unique and yes definitely - creative to the core. PS: A few more paintings are gonna make it to this space very soon. Keep a watch.
