The black pepper corns when raw - Have you seen them? The spice known world wide and used in many recepies is grown in abundance in the south tropical region in India. I happened to click this picture while I was visiting Coorg(in Karnataka India) a while ago.

The broken green gram dal when soaked in water and mixed with cucumber , a little lime juice and a pinch of salt is what we term as kosambiri. Its a healthy salad and is a must item on the menu in our festive meals. The click below shows how it looks. Optionally we also a little grated coconut to enhance the taste.
